A RESTORATIVE YOGA POSE
Viparita Karani...also known as " legs up the wall"
Sometimes all you want to do is lie down and do absolutely nothing. Well, thatβs self – care too.
Here is a restorative yoga pose that I do that does just that. This is one of my favorites, Itβs Viparita Karani, or legs up the wall.
I find it very calming, soothing, and nourishing. It allows my body and mind to instantly relax, relieving my stress and tension. Sometimes I use a bolster or a folded blanket to elevate my hips.
I find this pose very beneficial to do before bed. It gives my achy feet and legs the relief I need after a long day. I can really sink in this pose when I use a comfy pillow, I light a candle and play soft calming music. It feels so heavenly.
* Shimmy your hips as close to the wall as possible.
It also has many benefits. It strengthens your heart, it can help unwind your tight hamstrings, it releases lower back pain, it soothes your nervous system, and can balance your hormones too. To do this pose …
* Engage your legs.
* Engage your core.
* Your elbows should be turned in.
* Your neck & spine straight.
* Close your eyes & breathe, relax.
As you practice your breathing through this pose, you can fully surrender and let yourself relax completely.
Always remember, LOVE YOURSELF FIRST & YOU ARE ENOUGH! β€οΈ
From my heart to yours, Stacey XO
