Your mind, body, and soul will thank you for committing to a morning ritual. The day goes by so quickly, taking the time to reconnect is ready for you. It’s helpful to start with an intention… mine was the intention to take time. I found it so helpful when I took the time to create space and establish a morning ritual for myself. It’s a way to listen into my own needs, and wellbeing. This is what leaves me feeling relaxed and fills me up before I start my day.
Morning ritual is a series of actions we do in a certain order. Having a daily ritual to commit to helps you be mindful of the time you are spending with the most important person in your life…YOURSELF!!!
A Morning ritual ( or just a daily ritual )can be whatever it is that you find to be calming and grounding for you. A routine, a ritual that helps you reconnect with purpose and wellbeing. A ritual requires your FULL presence and attention. Rituals are sacred and should leave you feeling peaceful and fullfilled afterwards.
My rituals consists of a few different things & actions. These are my rituals…. usually in this order:
✨Gratitude : I am not fully awake when I do this… I just whisper what I am grateful for and I thank Jesus for another day with my eyes still shut.
✨Wash my face: with warm water, then I moisturize for the day.
✨Tongue Scrape: This is an absolute must! The amount of bacteria, toxins and dead cells that are on our tongue every morning is insane! YUCK! I have to do this EVERY morning, and I’ve recently started doing this before bed too.
✨Warm water with squeeze of 1/2 of lemon: This is such a simple, affordable, and natural way to improve our health. This is important to do before your cup of coffee.. I know… “I can’t, I need my coffee right away” I do too… But it’s so important to hydrate before our caffine. This helps wakes up our digestive system, boosts our immune system, clears skin, and freshens your breath. I do it, so can you!
✨Light my Candle: reminds me to shine my light… thank you Missy & Devarshi! ♥️
✝️Prayer/Meditation: This takes me anywhere from 5, 10, to 15 minutes. I just sit and pray, then I just breathe and listen to what I am feeling inside.
✨Morning pages/ journaling: 3 pages of anything and everything that comes to my mind. This is so freeing to me. I just write, write, and write…pen to paper and I just write whatever comes to my mind. Three pages are effortless for me first thing in the morning.
✨Daily Intention: This is as simple as what do I need to do today to help me feel my best. This is different everyday and it doesn’t always mean…what can I do to be productive today?! It’s what do I need, what does my body, and mind need today.
☕️Coffee: YES, YES, YES!!! Finally, my nice hot cup of coffee. I’m reading Women who run with the wolves… this I usually just read 2 or 3 pages, depending on how much time I have. Then I start getting fruit and breakfast ready for my kiddos. Then I drop my kids off at school, and listen to a pocast on the way home.
✨Walk: Sami’s favorite part of his day… I love it too… fresh air and vitamin D feels so good.
🕉️Yoga Every Damn Day: It’s my motto! Every damn day… whether it’s 10 minutes, 30 minutes or a full hour!!! I just get on my mat and move my body!
✨Breakfast or a smoothie: I enjoy my breakfast without my phone. Mindfully.
✨Make my Bed: Yes, the little things in life DO matter and I love having a neat bed to climb into when I wind down for the evening. It’s the absolute BEST!
Remember to GET YOUR SLEEP! Find a sleep routine that works for you. One that can support a healthy morning routine. The quality of our sleep will determine how we feel in the morning. Believe me, it’s true.
BE CONSISTENT! A morning ritual is a practice! Practice does require DISCIPLINE. Yes, it’s going to take effort but your self-care and self-love is what is important. Start by taking one ritual at a time, then you can add on.
Make it Magical… Include the things you love. I love candles, I love a cute journal with a nice pen, I love my soft music, and my soft amber lighting in the morning. It’s your ritual, make it magical, make it beautiful. Create this space for you.
Also, just because the morning works best for me doesn’t mean it will work for you. Pick a timeframe that is practical for you… maybe it’s in the afternoon, or before bedtime. Create a ritual that you find is right for your needs. Create what feels good for you, and what makes sense for your lifestyle. 😌
From my heart to yours,
Sending you Love & Light,
Stacey ♥️
