Values: are the things that are most important to us. They are the things that motivate us. Our values reflect our sense of right and wrong.
Take Time Today and journal on this question… What is important to me?
It’s a simple question, but when you take the time to sit and to truly think about what is important to you, it can give you sense of grounding and a knowing of the direction you want to move towards in this beautiful life you are living.
What is important to you should stem from the values you have for yourself. Our values are connected to who we are, our sense of self. I believe our values are essential for our mental, and emotional health.
What values in your life are motivating you right now? What values are guiding your everyday decsisons?
Place one hand on your heart and close your eyes for a moment and think about what core values do you have for yourself. Not the values that have been passed down through our culture or what values you have in your home. What is important to you? What are your core values?
It is our values that we have for ourselves that helps us develop and GROW!
3 ways our values can help us GROW:
1. Most importantly, our values help us create the future we think about. Knowing what we want out of our life is the first step to getting what we want.
2. Our values motivate us and give our life meaning.
3. Values help us live our life with a sense of direction and purpose.
Here are some important core values to think about:
✨Love- Love is everything. Love influences everything. Unconditional love is what completes us as a human being.
✨Empathy- having empathy as a core value helps you to build strong connections to all those around you. Having empathy forces us to listen with all our hearts.
✨Family- Yes, this is a value. Having dinner with my husband and children is a value that I myself cherish.
✨Health- I encourage my kids to make better choices for themselves. I love to cook nutritious meals with lots of veggies.
✨Respect-treat others in the same way you would want to be treated.
✨Faith- the power of prayer. Enough said.
✨Education- a good education to help set up my kids up for more opportunities so they can explore.
✨Friendships- try to encourage our kids to nurture their friendships.
✨Honesty- without honesty, there is no trust.
✨Compassion- understanding what we are going through and what others might be going through. Empathizing with ourselves, and others. Loving, and caring for ourselves and others.
✨Well-Being- to strive for mental, physical, and emotional strength while balancing our other responsbilities.
✨Growth- to continue to be curious and learn about all things wellness and try to inspire others along the way.
Remember, our values are not set in stone and they can change at any time! Time passes on, people mature, our beliefs and priorities change. You will find when we start on the journey of getting to know yourself better, it is a slow and an ever-changing process.
The most important thing is to remain self-aware and revisit your core values often. Sharing your core values with your family and friends is another great way to stay on your path to health and wellness. ✨
