2025: Let Go
Every year, I like to choose a word to guide me—a simple, reminder of what matters most and where I want to place my focus on. and grow. For 2025, my word is “Let Go”.
Why? Because as a mom of four teenagers, I’ve realized how much of life I can’t control, no matter how much I try. I’ve spent years juggling schedules, solving problems, and worrying about the future. But this year, I want to let go some of that weight. I want to trust in what we have taught our kids, give myself permission to let go of perfection, and make room for softness, calm, joy, and growth. Choosing a word for the year might seem small, but it gives you direction when life feels overwhelmed or when old habits try to pull you back. It’s a simple nudge to check in with your values and the kind of life you want to create.
For me, let go means a few things:
1.Trusting Their Growth
As my kids work through their teenage years, I’m learning that letting go means trusting them to find their way. I’ve done my best to teach them, but they need space to make mistakes, learn, and grow. Instead of micromanaging or trying to protect them from every challenge, I’m choosing to step back and cheer them on from the sidelines.
2.Releasing the Pressure
Life is busy. Between school, activities, friendships, and family, there’s always something demanding attention. But I’ve realized I don’t need to add to the chaos by clinging to expectations or trying to do it all. Letting go means embracing the messy, imperfect reality of this season and finding joy in the little moments that matter most.
3.Finding Freedom for Myself
Letting go isn’t just for my kids—it’s for me, too. It’s about releasing guilt, unrealistic goals, and the constant pressure to be everything to everyone. By letting go, I’m creating space to rediscover who I am outside of motherhood. This is taking so time. I’m giving myself permission to rest, dream, and focus on my own growth.
This year, let go will remind me to focus on what truly matters: love, connection, and living with intention. It’s not about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s about trusting the process and giving myself—and my kids—the freedom to grow too.
If you’ve never chosen a word for the year, I encourage you to give it a try. Think of it as a quiet anchor to hold onto, no matter what life throws your way. Whether your word is about strength, balance, or peace, it can be a powerful tool to keep you focused on your goals and your journey.
For me, let go feels right. It’s my reminder to release what I can not control, to trust the path ahead, and to make room for the beauty of life as it unfolds.
Remember… what ever you goal is, it isn’t about doing it perfectly-it’s about taking small, consistent steps forward. Some days will feel light, while others may feel heavy buy every step matters. It’s ok to pause, to find your way as you go. What matters is that you keep showing up with trust, love, and kindness for yourself. Give yourself permission to grow at your own pace. And remember, no matter what yesterday looked like, every morning is a new chance to Begin Again.
From my heart to yours, Stacey ♥️
