Listening to my Heart’s Desires:
As the winter season brings on stillness around us, I find myself drawn to moments of wonder and curiosity. Winter has a way of slowing things down, offering us a natural invitation to pause and ask: What is my heart truly calling for the year ahead?
For me, the answer is becoming clearer with each passing day. I crave more connection—and not just the everyday exchanges but the kind of connection that feels soulful and heartfelt, the kind that makes you feel deeply understood, like the way I feel when I visit my friend Nico’s Wild Heart Apothecary. I also wish for moments of solitude, space to take care of myself in ways that truly reset me, all while focusing on strengthening my relationships with my husband and our teenage children.
If you find yourself longing for similar things—more meaningful connection, time to nurture your relationships, and a deeper sense of care for yourself—know that a lot of us also are. These desires are part of The Collective Heart of so many women, especially those of us navigating the complexities of marriage, motherhood, and our own personal growth.
As I journal on how to bring these desires to life, I’ve realized that small, intentional steps every single day can make a world of difference.
Here are 3 ways I’m working to reach these goals this winter, and I hope they resonate with you too:
1. Create Space for Authentic Conversations
Deep connection starts with being fully present. Set aside distractions and invite soulful, meaningful conversations with your loved ones. Whether it’s sitting down for coffee with your husband, having a heart-to-heart with your teen, or calling a trusted friend, these moments of genuine connection build bonds that last.
2. Prioritize Solitude Without Guilt
Solitude isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Schedule time for yourself to reflect, journal, or simply rest alone. Maybe it’s an hour in the morning before the house wakes up or a quiet walk in nature. Give yourself permission to be alone and refill your cup without guilt or apology.
3. Choose Small Acts of Love Daily
Building stronger relationships doesn’t always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s the little things—listening more intently, offering a kind word, or cooking a meal together. These small acts of love, done with intention, can transform the way we connect with our family and others around us.
This winter, I’m embracing the beauty of slowing down and tuning into what my heart truly desires. It’s a journey, not a destination, and I know now from experience… it won’t always be perfect, and that’s ok!. But I believe that by choosing small, intentional steps every day, I can create the kind of life my heart longs for—one filled with deeper connections, meaningful solitude, and a stronger sense of togetherness with my family.
If you’re walking a similar path, I encourage you to join me in this quiet but powerful journey. Let’s “let go” the pressure to do it all and instead focus on what truly matters. Together, we can embrace the stillness of this season and use it as a time to realign, reconnect, and recharge.
What is your heart longing for this winter? What small steps can you take to honor those desires? I’d love to hear from you—let’s share, encourage, and grow together as a collective heart community.
Here’s to a winter filled with love, presence, and meaningful connection.
From my heart to yours, Stacey ♥️
